Your Class
We understand that everyone may have different reasons for taking drumming classes. Some just want to unwind after a hard day at work. Others may have a passionate interest in Mande percussion. Some might be motivated by the community aspect of drumming. For many it will be some combination of all the above. At DjembeHouse we respect all these reasons and others. We do our best to meet your needs and expectations. Please let us know what we can do to meet your expectations.
Djembe and Dunun
Most beginning djembe players are initially drawn by the djembe drum specifically. As talked about in the Mande Music section, the classic Mande drum ensemble consists of one set of 3 dunun and 2 or 3 djembes. To really understand the music, we teach and encourage students to learn both the djembe and dunun. You may decide to specialize in one or the other, but some experience with both drums will inform and help your music.
