Respect
In keeping with Mande culture, we emphasize respect and believe people of all ages, abilities and races have something valuable to offer to the drumming and dance community. Respect applies to more than people. We also respect the djembe and the culture it comes from by accurately naming and portraying the music and culture. Give your djembe and its source respect and it will reward you many times over.
Lineage
Our method of teaching comes directly from Mamady Keïta and the Tam Tam Mandingue international school of percussion and can traced back to Mamady’s childhood where he apprenticed under Karinka Djan Konde in Balandougou, Guinea.
